UNSTOPPABLE PRODUCTION KIT20/01/2021
Todd, how did you find that photography is your passion? Tell me your story of becoming a wedding photographer?
“I’ve always had an interest in photography. It was something I did in my free time, but as my business grew it reached critical mass and I quit my day job to pursue photography full time. I initially started with in-studio photography and doing wedding photography for friends and family. As I became more comfortable and confident with wedding photography it grew to become a bigger part of my business. 14 years later we now have a team of wedding photographers and videographers covering Banff, Canmore and Calgary.”
What role does lighting play in your work?
“While I’ve taken inspiration from other photographers and images, I am always trying to be different to set myself apart from others. I think my style has developed and evolved over several years and it takes confidence to be different. Lighting is critical, especially in indoor settings where shooting in natural light is not possible.”
Are you working alone on the set, or do you have any assistants that help you with lighting or assisting the clients? How does a usual set day of your work looks like ?
“I almost always have an assistant. I try to capture the best images without interrupting the flow of the event.”
